Jason Kelce ‘Secured’ a Freezer of Dippin’ Dots for the Eagles — See His Go-To Flavor
If Jason Kelce’s birthday wasn’t sweet enough after the Eagles win on Sunday, then a freezer full of Dippin’ Dots likely did the trick.
The Philadelphia Eagles center celebrated his 36th birthday on Nov. 5 by defeating the Dallas Cowboys. He also had access to a freezer of desserts after previously professing his love for Dippin' Dots on an episode of his New Heights podcast with brother Travis Kelce.
“No better way to celebrate a cowboys victory yesterday, than enjoying our newest addition to the Oline room on behalf of our friends @dippindots. Maybe it’ll add some more mass to the Tush Push!!” Jason wrote on Instagram, referencing one of the team’s successful offensive plays also known as the "Brotherly Shove."
Written on the whiteboard behind Jason and his fellow players Jordan Mailata and Landon Dickerson is "the keys to victory." The list reads: "1. Secure Dippin' Dots 2. Acquire utensils 3. Get Dippin' Dots to playmakers 4. Eat and enjoy!"
Former NFL star JJ Watt gave his seal of approval in the comments. “Dippin Dots in the meeting room?!? Definition of livin the dream…” he wrote.
The frozen dessert brand stepped in to make Jason’s dream a reality and helped arrange the Dippin’ Dots freezer, the brand confirmed to PEOPLE. The company learned of Jason’s love for Dippin’ Dots following the podcast episode in October.
But the treats weren’t only in the team's conference room. In honor of Jason’s birthday, Dippin’ Dots arranged for an Eagles-inspired menu at Xfinity Live! so fans could get in on the party prior to the Eagles game against the Cowboys. The flavor lineup included O-line crunch, brotherly shove banana split (Jason’s personal favorite), ICEE blitz and bird-day cake. Dippin’ Dots also secured two billboards in Philly wishing Jason a happy birthday.
“The best thing about any amusement park is not the rides,” Jason said in a clip from the New Heights episode shared to Instagram. “It’s the Dippin’ Dots.”
Travis agreed and confirmed that he also loves the frozen dessert and explained that his Kansas City Chiefs’ teammate Pat Mahomes even has a personal stock of Dippin’ Dots in his garage. A shocked Jason expressed his jealousy over Mahomes’ supply, so Dippin’ Dots wanted to step in and share the love.
